my babies

though i'm not a mother, i am one at heart, i enjoy spending time with, taking care of and photographing children. and until i get married and have my own, my camera's are like my babies to me for now...

my new [to me] baby is a hasselblad 500cm. it's an absolutely gorgeous medium format camera. i purchased the body awhile ago, but i just received my 50mm lens, i'm so excited i can finally use it! the clarity of this lens is just phenomenal, this screen doesn't do these photographs justice.

i've only shot two rolls through it so far but i wanted to share these. that's right, i'm still stuck in the film world, on purpose... ....so maybe not stuck, i do plenty of digital work as well, as most of the work on this blog so far has been, i enjoy working in both worlds.

here are some real babies that are getting too big too fast and aren't really babies anymore, there are 5 siblings total and they are all very close to my heart...

more wedding candids

last year i drove down to louisville for a weekend to shoot two weddings with Amy Shepherd. i wanted to see what i could learn from observing her in the midst of it all. i ended up doing alot of candid work; again, what i love. as usual, i was drawn to the kids, as you will soon see. amy uploaded the pictures off my cards before i left town so she could use them, but otherwise i didn't really need them for anything so they've just been sitting on my hard drive, i was going through folders the other night, found them and thought, 'some of these are blog worthy.' so here they are.

second wedding in Louisville with Amy Shepherd

most of my favorites from this one were simply the bridal party hanging out waiting to get their formal pictures taken.

the family trying to get the attention of one of the little ones behind amy who was taking the formal pictures...ha.
